WV Higher Education Policy Commission (HEPC) requires all state institutions of higher learning to continuously review academic degree programs in a five-year rotation to assess viability, adequacy, necessity, and consistency with mission.
The University Board of Governors (BOG) evaluates programs under review annually in the spring semester. Â The Assessment and Accreditation Committee is responsible for oversight of assessment of student learning in program review, and provides the BOG with formal recommendations. Â Board approval and/or recommendations for improvement, along with a Program Review Summary are submitted to the HEPC Â in May.
